RETURN FROM A MISSION IN CALCUTTA

RETURN FROM A MISSION IN CALCUTTA

the nourrir aimer donner (feeding, loving, giving) foundation continues to support the pastry making training centre that it founded in 2013 in calcutta. this summer, alain cojean and his friend fabien rouillard, a pastry chef, went to calcutta to help the team of young trainee pastry makers. their goal: to launch a new recipe, breton biscuits!

this also gave alain and fabien the opportunity to participate in the bastille day event organised by the french consulate in calcutta. the consulate is a fervent supporter of the project, and offers a box of “shuktara cakes” biscuits and cakes to all its guests every year.

over 1500 biscuits, pastries and cakes were made for the event in 2 days by this exceptional team, whose members have now become experts at making madeleines, financiers and other cakes. sales continue to develop and the centre should soon be able to self finance. the foundation is extremely proud of this hugely professional and motivated team.
