PROJECT IN TOGO FOR JULIETTE, COJEAN’S QUALITY DIRECTOR

PROJECT IN TOGO FOR JULIETTE, COJEAN’S QUALITY DIRECTOR

the nourrir aimer donner foundation has been supporting the CENA (study and nutrition centre) since 2012.

the CENA is situated in agou nyogbo, a village 75 miles away from lomé, togo’s capital city. the centre has been equipped to inform the local population of spirulina’s exceptional nutritional qualities, and to distribute the algae free of charge to underprivileged populations in agou and the surrounding villages. the centre is managed by the charity eco spiruline, which also runs a spirulina farm in the same village. since 2012, over 1500 malnourished local children have benefited from free spirulina supplements. tona and elisabeth, who manage the centre on a day-to-day basis, do an incredible job on the farm and in the centre, giving out free supplements whilst also promoting and selling this algae and products made from it. the aim of our visit was to help us to think about how our foundation could further help the nutrition centre.

in march, juliette, our restaurants’ quality manager, went over to visit the centre in order to better understand their work, their needs in terms of equipment and their production process, as well as the difficulties encountered in this country where power cuts can occur on a daily basis.

juliette’s visit was an opportunity to engage in fruitful discussions about the spirulina project and has enabled cojean to offer additional practical support as well as financing the project from a distance.

we aim to continue to help the centre to develop its activities and to help it to work towards being able to self finance.
