THE HOUSE OF NUTRITION IN MADAGASCAR

at the end of 2017, a nutrition center was inaugurated in antsirabe, madagascar, thanks to the support of the foundation and the association mahereza. this center set up 6 weeks nutrition cures for children under 5 suffering from chronic malnutrition, with the development of specific menus based on spirulina. the aim is also to train mothers and to make them aware of good hygiene and good nutrition practices.

in 2018, 178 children were welcomed and 151 mothers were trained. In 2019, the foundation continues its support with the aim of enriching meals and completing the monitoring of the benefits of cures. hemoglobin testers were even provided to measure children's anemia rates before and after cures.

this is the third project supported by the foundation in partnership with the association antenna france to promote spirulina as a local and sustainable solution to fight against malnutrition:

2012: expansion of a spirulina farm in laos that allows to reach its self-financing
from 2012 to 2017: financing of a nutrition center in togo, which is financially autonomous since 2017, thanks to the adjoining spirulina farm
2018: launch of the partnership in madagascar and launch of nutrition cures with the nutrition center

cojean restaurants also continue to source spirulina from the togo farm. this year, more than 130 kilos of their production will be imported for the realization of the different spirulina-based recipes: mango spirulina summer bowl, spirulina chia pudding, blue superfood salad and a spirulina kiwi bircher.
